The first race of the 2013 season went off with out a hitch and is in the record books!  Congrats to Steve Roden (8.60 Class) and Jeff Samples (9.50 Class) on picking up the first wins of the season.  Also congrats to Mark Zierer who took home Runner-Up honors as well as #1 Qualifier and Steve Peterson for ending up in the Semi-Finals in the 8.60 class.  In the 9.50 class it would be Sarah Brown coming home in the Runner-Up spot which makes it her second while competing with the GDRA.

The second race of the GDRA season will take place on Saturday, May 18th, 2013 at Great Lakes Dragaway (www.GreatLakesDragaway.com) as part of the Nitrous Street Car Brawl. The GDRA will have 4 classes of racing in attendance; the 7.80, 8.60, & 9.50 index classes and the NEW No Limits class which is a run what ya brung 1/8th mile heads up all out class. This class is designed with the worlds fastest door slammers in mind so if you think you can hang with the big dawgs, get signed up now. All classes pay out 100% in cash!!!

The first race of the season is right around the corner!  It will take place on Saturday, May 4th at Byron Dragway in Byron, IL.  The GDRA will be running 3 index classes this season.  7.80, 8.60, and 9.50 will all be on track and the same as the have been in years past.  This season will see the addition of a new class.  The No Limits class will just like it sounds… run it out the back door and get to the finish line first, but be prepared!  This class is designed for Big Dawgs puttin down some amazing triple digits speeds!!!  The biggest difference here aside from the fact that these cars have some serious grunt under the hood, is that they will run an 1/8th mile program.  That’s right… this class is all about 1/8th mile door slammer action!  We know that some of these cars can run into the 3 second range in the 1/8th mile so this is certainly an action packed class and will be the fastest of all the GDRA classes!
